Candidate Statement

As your most experienced City Councilmember, I humbly ask for your vote for Mayor to continue making my hometown a better, cleaner appearing community for everyone.

I’ve had the honor of leading our community to a balanced budget with a $10 million reserve, increased the quality of our roads by 50%, and renovated all our City parks. Additionally, I’ve championed our increase in open space by 50% with our new 297-acre Alhambra Highlands addition.

I will make sure Martinez continues to be among the top 50 safest cities in California, while enhancing a progressive police force.

I’ve fought for cleaner and more reliable water, and for cleaner air and climate protections on the Bay Area Air Quality Management District.

I support safer schools, individual choice for women, and sensible solutions to community, racial and social justice issues. I will also eliminate systemic racism for a more inclusive, equitable city government.

I’m proud to see our efforts succeed in making downtown Martinez a destination spot, and will continue to foster solutions for businesses to prosper and our citizens and visitors to feel safe and valued.

I’ll prioritize fulfilling the Marina’s potential, return the amphitheater to it’s intended use, and improve our cultural and artistic venues.

I’ll continue fiscal responsibility, improving streets, parks and efficient delivery of City services in the town I was raised.
